New York! New York!

Visting New York City in the spring time. I love Central Park at this time of the year.

Mr. & Mrs. Jones

Life as it happens, that’s all, a family non-session session.

As we all know, sometimes it is the little things in life that bring us the most joy. I am a photographer all of the time it seems, but the images I love most are the ones that I never plan to get. No scheduled session where everyone feels the need to dress up, no rules about lighting, no taking extra time to give the kids “the talk” about being good for the photographer, just plain and simple life as it is happening. No matter how much I try and stress the importance of this to families before their scheduled shoot it still somehow gets lost. The awkwardness of having some girl there clicking at your every move is far from natural and that may have something to do with it. These guys are my friends and I love them. While I was visiting them we were all piled in their room listening to the rain fall from the open bedroom windows and I snapped a few photos. That simple. It is so refreshing. I honestly was inspired when I noticed a large black and white print of their oldest daughter Kyra in their living room. I thought how awesome and natural the photo was and it was basically a snap shot. There was no fancy lighting or wardrobe just a beautiful honest photo.

So here’s to my friends. Thanks for being awesome, Zills family. Happy Thursday yall.

Traveling Photographers

Traveling gypsies. Well, sort of…with cameras, though. We love, love, love what we do, but there are times when scheduling families for shoots that we wish we had the option to meet them on a mountainside or in a field blanketed with snow or even under the high rises of the big city lights at night. Our world is full of beauty and we want to encompass that in our work. Don’t get us wrong…South Alabama is BEAUTIFUL, and it is also our landing spot. We are just ready to take flight.

Fortunately for us, we have had couples/families from all over requesting photo shoots with us. In order to make our trips worthwhile, we are planning to book solid while we are there. SOOOO…if you are interested in having us in your town, please let us know and PLEASE schedule your friends. If we name you as a ‘captain’, your session is on us along with other bonuses!

Welcome Newborn Baby

It was so nice to work with this family. They are great people and great parents. I am so excited to see more of them as their special little boy grows.
