Getting Hitched
Out in the middle of nowhere. Way down Fort Morgan Road. That is where we met and that is where we shot. It was fun. We all waited for the perfect sunset but we had so much fun that we shot past it, right on into the dark. I cannot wait for the wedding of these two lovely individuals. Man our job is awesome!!!!

Embracing the Trending World of Photography
b) load to your hard drive to sit in a folder titled “pictures” for all eternity or until said hard drive poops out
c) upload them to walmart.com or any other photo lab online for printing
If you answered (c) then yay for you. At least your memorable images are not wasting away in desktopville. We at So Life Studios find it shameful that in this digital world our reason for working and sometimes existing is becoming extinct. The images produced by so many talented photographers are rotting away on the computers of people all over the country. The art itself is simply dying. I will not even go into my opinions about the “trend” of photography and how I think it is as popular as getting a new hairstyle. Maybe some other time. This blog is to let you know how we (the photographers at So Life Studios) have chosen to embrace this and help you. We figured, since you are already paying for our service (and thank you so much by the way), we should see the project all the way through. We have developed packages to help you use the print credit that is already figured into your session fee.
Now, we aren’t Sears. (No offense, Sears.) We are So Life. We capture images of your life and we want to help you display them. Everyone wins because now our images will not be rotting away in desktopville and we will be preventing the extinction of our craft. TADAAA! Brilliance!
We have looked around and found some fantastical ideas for displaying photos. We decided to base our packages off of these wonderful displays.
First we have the enormous:

Next we have the huge (not as enormous):

Now we have the large:

Here is a very simple display the three large portraits A grouping of 20×24 prints.

Square Prints are fun fun fun. Here are 9 large square prints:

12 5×7 prints! Love these guys!

10 11×14 prints. Just beautiful.

Another way to use squares without the cost of frames 30 squares for this display. 5×5′s will do.

Now don’t forget to get crafty with your displays. You do not always have to have fancy frames. Double sided tape will do just fine.

Insert a little art into your display

So please please please, for the love, let us help you PRINT your photos.

MY FAMILY MADE THE BLOG
My family has never been on the blog before now. I have no idea why. We are all so very cool! Now when Trisha takes time out of her busy schedule to do a session for us, you better believe that it is going on the blog. I can’t decide if the coolest part about having a session with Trisha was all of the incredible, accurately descriptive images that we got out of the deal, or being on the other side of the camera. What I mean by that, is when Trish and I are out doing a job together, I never know how the experience is for the client. I have to tell you, the experience was GRRREAT! It was so easy and so much fun. After looking at all of the breath taking photos she made of us, I was overwhelmed at how proud I was to be apart of such a phenomenal team. The creativity, patience and artistic ability that it takes to make images that will be there forever to reflect on is not so easy to come by. There seems to be photographers popping up everywhere these days but as far as I am concerned, I had the best for my family this day. The girl is just talented.
Thank you Trisha Kay aka”Aunt T” for being a fabulous photographer and creative partner in crime, but mostly for being my friend.

ENGAGED! Sarah + Cameron
It is November in south Alabama. The weather can be pretty tricky at this time of year. We never know from day to day if we will need a sweater or flip flops. On Sunday, I went out to the beach about an hour before the sun went down and man oh man, WIND like crazy. The sky was full of those poofy cotton like clouds that I love so much. I thought it looked so dreamy and romantic but of course, I was concerned that the subjects waiting for me, would be anything but excited to get out in what felt like a tropical storm. I couldn’t be more wrong though. In fact, these guys just fell right into the romantic backdrop like something magical. I was like a kid in a candy store. Every once in a while you get not only the perfect backdrop but the perfect couple to go along with it. It is rare and special. I had a blast. Got soaked but had a blast. Thanks so much Cameron and Sarah for being in love and being beautiful. Good luck on starting your life together as husband and wife! -april
Alabama White Christmas…
This cool family requested a cotton field for their shoot. As the date of the session got closer, I noticed a lot of the fields had already been picked. I tried not to panic but decided to wait until the day of the session to scope one out. I think I found the fullest, prettiest field! Not only are these guys awesome clients… they happen to be great friends of mine as well. ~Trish
